If you are used to having canned cranberry sauce with your Thanksgiving turkey, you will be pleasantly surprised to find out how fresh-tasting this gluten-free cranberry sauce is and how easy it is to make! It can be made 3 days ahead and kept covered in the refrigerator until needed.
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
1/4 tsp freshly grated orange zest
Put the water and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Add the cranberries and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir in the orange zest, pour into a small serving bowl, and cool in the refrigerator.
Makes about 1 1/2 cups.
